Scouring the internet for mac paint pot dupes?
I’ve got you covered!
MAC Cosmetics is one of the top three makeup brands in the world.
It started in 1984 and quickly grew to the grand company it is today.
Their very first product was a matte lipstick in a bright pink shade, which then expanded to various different shades.
Apart from their amazing products, MAC has been an incredible, supportive and influential company.
To this day, the MAC VIVA GLAM campaign has raised over $270 million for aids research.
From the very beginning, MAC Cosmetics has stuck with their motto, “All Ages, All Races, All Sexes” which celebrates the diversity amongst all of us makeup lovers.
Even after about 40 years, the Matte Lipstick is still one of MAC’s best-selling products.
All of their products are high quality, such as the Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation and the Pro Longwear Concealer.
For now though, let’s talk about the Pro Longwear Paint Pots.
They are cream shadows that are great to bring a pop of color onto the eyelids, but they can also be used as an eyeshadow base.
They come in 16 different shades, both matte and shimmery with lots of neutral shades.
The matte cream shadows are very opaque and if you stack an eyeshadow on top, the color of the shadow will be more pigmented and will last longer throughout the day without fading or creasing.
For $23, you will get 5g of product.
Let’s be honest, the price is quite steep for such a small amount of product.
Not to worry though, we did the research to find the best dupes for MAC’s Paint Pots so that you won’t miss out on a great cream shadow.

Best Dupes for MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Pots:
1. MAC Paint Pot vs DUPE: Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow Pot
Our first recommendation is the Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow Pot by Maybelline, which was voted the Best Makeup Steal of 2020 by Allure.
The formula is a cream-gel, and it is very saturated with color that will hold on to your lids for 24 hours (hence ‘tattoo’ in the name).
It glides easily and melts onto the lid, won’t crease throughout the day, and is even waterproof!
THis paint pot mac dupe is available in 7 different shades at Ulta, both glittery and non-glittery.
The size of this product is slightly less than the MAC Paint Pots, but the Maybelline version is so much more affordable at only around $8.
2. MAC Paint Pot vs DUPE: Colourpop Crème Eyeshadow
We love Colourpop for many reasons, one of them being their Crème Eyeshadow, which has an exact dupe for mac paint pot soft ochre (more on that below).
The formula is very soft, creamy, and lightweight.
It is crease-proof and water-resistant so it will stick on all day.
It was created as a 2-in-1 primer and shadow, so the 6 shades available are very neutral, nude, and slightly peachy shades.
For a MAC Paint Pot Soft Ochre dupe, you will find none better than Colourpop’s Crème Eyeshadow in the shade Bronco.
This product also has a dupe for MAC painterly paint pot.
Both Laurel and Camouflage are pretty great dupes for Painterly, and perhaps a blend of the two would be the perfect MAC painterly paint pot dupe.
The Colourpop Crème Eyeshadow is 0.13 oz (only 0.04 less than MAC’s version) and only costs $8.
3. MAC Paint Pot vs DUPE: Clinique Touch Base For Eyes Eyeshadow Primer
Next up, we want to talk about the Touch Base For Eyes Eyeshadow Primer by Clinique which has a smooth texture that glides on the eye.
It dries quickly, but once it’s set, it’s set.
This dupe for mac paint pot will not budge throughout the day, and it won’t crease either.
It only comes in 3 colors which is possibly the only downside.
The colors are very pretty and can actually be worn on their own.
One customer reviews this product by saying, “This is a must to keep your eyeshadow from smudging all the way down your face.”
We love that this product can work as a shadow and primer as well!
It is a bit more pricey than our other recommendations and costs $19.50.
4. MAC Paint Pot vs DUPE: e.l.f. Putty Eye Primer
E.l.f. has some of the best drugstore products, and their Putty Eye Primer is no exception.
If you’ve tried their viral Putty Primer, this product has the same putty texture to it.
One of the great things about this eye primer is the fact that it contains squalane, which will hydrate your eyelids and extend the wear of your eyeshadow makeup.
It can be worn as a primer or as a shadow and it comes in 4 different nude shades, plus a black and a white shade.
It may need to be warmed up with the warmth of your fingers before applying.
The price is very affordable at only around $11.

5. MAC Paint Pot vs DUPE: Revlon ColorStay Crème Eye Shadow
If you’re looking for a shimmery cream eyeshadow, you should try the Revlon ColorStay Crème Eyeshadow!
It comes in 6 beautiful shades and the formula is very smooth and easy to blend out onto the entire lid.
The cream eye shadows are waterproof and will last a full 24 hours without smudging or moving in the slightest bit!
Each color also comes with its own applicator brush.
A few customers with more mature skin love the Revlon ColorStay Crème Eye Shadow product because it doesn’t settle in their fine lines and wrinkles, doesn’t move all day, and still comes off incredibly easily with micellar water.
It only costs around $9, so don’t miss out on this one!
6. MAC Paint Pot vs DUPE: r.e.m. beauty Midnight Shadows Matte Liquid Eyeshadow
Another product that gives us a lot of variety in shades is the Midnight Shadows Liquid Eyeshadow by r.e.m. beauty.
There are two version of this liquid eyeshadow: Lustrous and Matte.
The Lustrous version has a total of 11 shades, and they are gorgeous metallic shades that will add the perfect pop of color that will make heads turn!
The Matte version comes in 10 shades, and they are all nude, peach, pink, brown shades for a more simple makeup look.
All 21 shades are truly beautiful on the eyelids and are very pigmented as well as waterproof and long-wearing.
The formula is more liquid gel than a cream, but we felt the need to mention it because it is great!
The finish and the wide range of neutral colors is really what makes these great mac paint pot dupes.
For only $16, you can get about the same amount of product and similar results.
7. MAC Paint Pot vs DUPE: Ulta Matte Cream Eyeshadow
Our last mac paint pot dupe is the Matte Cream Eyeshadow by Ulta Beauty, which has a 4.5-star rating with 245 reviews.
Like a few of the others, this cream eyeshadow can work as a primer under eyeshadow or as an eyeshadow by itself.
There are a lot of good things about this product!
It contains primrose and safflower oils which have vitamin C and omega 6 fatty acids to moisturize and sooth the skin.
It also has peptides that will reduce the appearance of fine lines, vitamin E for antioxidants, and mango seed butter and himanthalia elongata extract for more vitamins.
Apart from these skincare benefits, this cream shadow won’t leave you any smudges or creases throughout the day.
There are four beautiful shades to choose from for a natural makeup look.
And, as if it couldn’t get better, it only costs $8.50!
Dupes for MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots Wrap-Up
With so many cream eyeshadows to choose from, it can be hard to find the one that is best for you.
But that’s exactly why we love dupes!
Since they aren’t too pricey, we can try a few before settling for one product.
We can find a cheaper great product without sacrificing the benefits and quality of the original product, and you may even like it more than the high-end version.
We hope that you found these dupes helpful!
Whether it’s for a pop of color or for a smooth base for your eye shadow, you will love our recommendations because they are so easy to use and also offer some great shade dupes for the Paint Pots by MAC.
