AXIS-Y Complete No Stress Physical Sunscreen Review

Today’s post is about another awesome AXIS-Y skincare product.

AXIS-Y is a popular Korean skincare brand that has a fabulous line of cruelty-free, vegan, and paraben-free products, which are also free from artificial colors and fragrances.

They have a broad range of affordable and effective products that can be shipped internationally to 32 countries (with free international shipping over $80).

I had the pleasure of trying out a few of their products, two of which are in my last post and another that I’ll be reviewing in this post below.

I absolutely love the simple and clean aesthetic of the branding and packaging, as well as the shape of the sunscreen bottle.

It makes it super easy to get precisely the right amount of product out of the thin, long tip, which is great for using the two-finger rule for getting the correct amount of sunscreen for your entire face.

As a woman who burns easily in the sun, but also doesn’t like the greasiness, stickiness, and smelliness of typical sunscreens, I was surprised that I actually liked the feeling of this physical sunscreen.

Read on below for a detailed summary and review of what else I enjoyed!

What is it?

The bestselling, Complete No Stress Physical Sunscreen is a Mugwort-based sunscreen that has 2% niacinamide and squalane, contains no artificial fragrance, is allergen-free, and is ISO internationally certified as SPF 50+ PA ++++.

Product claims: Protects skin from UVA and UVB damage with reef-safe ingredients (only physical active ingredients) and leaves minimal to no white cast, stickiness, or pilling

Price: $23 USD for 50 ml

Best for: Any skin type (even acne-prone and oily skin)

Formula: Lightweight, creamy texture

Ingredient Overview: This physical sunscreen is part of AXIS-Y’s 611 line, which means it is formulated with a mix of 6 nutrient-rich ingredients in its base, 1 targeted core ingredient, and 1 ultra-effective quality ingredient

  • Base Ingredients:
    • Calendula – anti-inflammatory
    • Grape – creates protective film barrier
    • Green Tea – soothes irritated skin
    • Chamomile – another calming ingredient
    • Squalane – fights free radicals
    • Allantoin – stimulates cell turnover and fights premature aging
  • Core ingredient:
    • Mugwort – keeps skin cool and improves skin elasticity and radiance
  • Effective ingredient:
    • Syn-Coll – a peptide sequence that copies collagen production in the body and has ant-aging benefits

Did the product deliver?

The formula was lightweight, soaked in quickly, worked well under makeup (with no pilling), and didn’t feel greasy or sticky.

I didn’t experience any white cast; however, I can’t speak to if there would be a cast on darker skin tones than mine (I’m quite fair).

I also didn’t experience any burning upon application, like some sunscreens cause on sensitive skin.

It protected my face from sunburns effectively, with re-applications throughout the day, and will be a staple for my skin for this upcoming summer season!

In the future, I would really love to see AXIS-Y come out with tinted versions of this sunscreen for added coverage across a variety of skin tones.
