AXIS-Y Dark Spot Serum & Blemish Treatment Review

Today’s post is all about two incredible AXIS-Y skincare products.

AXIS-Y is a popular Korean clean beauty brand that has a fabulous line of cruelty-free, vegan, and paraben free products, which are also free from artificial colors and fragrance.

They have a broad range of affordable and effective products that can be shipped internationally to 32 countries (with free international shipping over $80).

I had the pleasure of trying out a few of their products, two of which are in this post and the other review you can find here.

First off, how freaking cute is the packaging!?

Especially the blemish treatment dropper bottle.

Did the product deliver?

My skin loves niacinamide in general, so it was a big fan of this product! I loved the feeling of this serum upon application and it did a great job of brightening my skin over time.

So, it gets a check mark for meeting that claim.

While I didn’t see a dramatic difference in some of my older hyperpigmentation & scarring, it did help lighten some more recent dark spots which was a big plus!

You get a generous amount of product for an affordable price (versus other serums competing in the same space).

If you’re in the market for a top-notch brightening serum, give this one a try!

In the future, it would be awesome to have a travel sized version of this serum available for purchase to take along on short trips as well.

What is it?

The bestselling, blemish busting, Spot the Difference Blemish Treatment is an acne fighting spot treatment that doesn’t sacrifice moisture and is alcohol-free

Product claims: Banishes breakouts and blemishes

Price: $16 USD for 15 ml

Best for: Acne and discoloration

Formula: Watery and silky serum with floating ceramide capsule beads

Ingredient Overview: This blemish treatment is part of AXIS-Y’s 611 line, which means it is formulated with a mix of 6 nutrient-rich ingredients in its base, 1 targeted core ingredient, and 1 ultra-effective quality ingredient

  • Base Ingredients:
    • Tea Tree Extract – dries out breakouts, reduces irritation and soothes skin
    • Green Tea Leaf – controls sebum and calms skin
    • Camphor Leaf – antibacterial and antifungal
    • Mentha Aquatica – revitalizes irritated skin
    • Licorice Root – antioxidant rich
    • Broadleaf Bamboo – anti-inflammatory
  • Core ingredient:
    • 4-Terpineol – main active ingredient in Tea Tree that dries up blemishes and has antioxidant and antibacterial properties
  • Effective ingredient:
    • Phyto-oligo 1% – Made up of hollyhock flower and aloe vera extracts, this phyto complex moisturizes without irritation and is perfect for sensitive skin

Did the product deliver?

This blemish treatment was very gentle, yet effective, and the little ceramide beads were such a fun aesthetic (yet also practical) addition!

While it wasn’t an overnight fix (but no zit zapper ever is), it did quickly reduce inflammation and make pimples disappear.

What I especially loved was that it helped banish breakouts without drying the living daylights out of them, like some spot treatments do.

Because then your pimples may be gone, but a super dry patch (and a damaged skin barrier) is left behind.

I found this product was most effective at bringing surface level pimples to a head and then helping to flatten them quickly.

However, it wasn’t as powerful against deep, cystic, under the skin pimples, so I just waited until those suckers came up before attacking them with this powerful treatment.

Overall, this product is awesome for tackling above the skin pimples at an extremely affordable price and in super cute packaging!

In the future, it would be awesome if AXIS-Y came out with a pimple patch version of this formula for on the go and quick application.
