Element Brooklyn Review: Aesop Dupe?

Element Brooklyn is a company that creates affordable dupes for luxury home and beauty products.

Each item is handmade in Brooklyn, New York, and arrives in sustainable refill packaging to better protect the environment.

The company also donates $1 to the Ocean Conservancy for every refill pouch sold.

Element Brooklyn also has a reputation for outstanding customer service.

To thank their loyal customers, they have been known to send free soap containers and even chocolate with orders.

In this article, we will be reviewing two Element Brooklyn soaps, so that you can save some money, do your part to protect our oceans and environment, and smell expensive!

Element Brooklyn Mandarin Hand Soap Refill vs Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash

The Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand wash is a luxury hand soap.

It is famous for its energizing citrusy aroma of Orange, Rosemary, and Lavender that gently cleanses and moisturizes.

This high-end soap will cost you $40 for 16.9 fl oz or $39 for a 16.9 fl oz refill.

Despite the soap dispenser not being included, you only save a dollar on the refill option which isn’t a great incentive.

The refill also comes in another bottle (and not a plastic-saving refill pouch).

A fantastic dupe for the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Soap is the Element Brooklyn Mandarin Hand Soap Refill.

This rich hand soap smells like dreamy mandarin, cedarwood, and lavender and it leaves a luscious lather that cleanses the skin and leaves it feeling moisturized.

I had the opportunity to try out this soap and I honestly could not tell the difference between the Aesop version (and neither could my friends!)

The soap arrives in clean white packaging that is thin and easy to store.

It is made from post-use consumer plastic and is much better for the environment than standard plastic dispensers, as this uses 85% less plastic.

In terms of size, the Element Brooklyn refill is twice as big as the Aesop version and half the price.

You get 34 fl oz for $18.50, which will fill your soap dispenser twice.

This means that you are paying about $9 per soap refill (a $30 dollar savings versus the Aesop refill).

This soap is a great dupe as it has an identical orange, lavender, and rosemary scent.

The soap’s consistency, color, and lather are also very similar.

It’s a much more affordable, eco-friendly option that I’d absolutely recommend you try out for yourself!

Don’t believe me? Just check out the reviews for yourself:

“I’ve been filling up my bottle with this stuff and no one can tell!”

“I have fragrance allergies and sensitive skin and I’ve been on the hunt to find a nice-smelling soap that isn’t irritating. This one fits the bill. I’ll definitely be buying more.”

“This soap is perfect. I originally got the version that smelled a little mandarin-y (still good) but the company listened to user feedback and apparently made the soap even better. I can’t wait to reorder once I work through my batch!”

Element Brooklyn Basil Hand Soap Refill vs Le Labo Basil Hand Soap

The Le Labo Basil Hand Soap is a sweet-smelling, lathery soap that removes dirt and bacteria from the hands.

The soap’s fragrance consists of uplifting basil, rosemary, and citrusy Verbena.

One downside is that the hand wash sells out quickly online, so it can be difficult to get your hands on.

You can pick up a travel-size 8.5 fl oz version of the Le Labo soap for $32, or a larger 16.9 fl oz option for $45.

The Element Brooklyn Basil Hand Soap Refill is an affordable dupe for the Le Labo soap.

It recently went viral on Tiktok for being the perfect dupe to the Le Labo soap.

Notes of aromatherapeutic lemongrass, sea buckthorn, rosemary essential oils, and awakening basil soothe the soul as you wash the day away and this revitalizing soap makes handwashing enjoyable and relaxing.

This soap replicates the citrus and herby fragrance of the Le Labo soap and has a very similar texture.

The colors of both soaps are also indistinguishable.

As mentioned previously, the Element Brooklyn version is more sustainably-packaged and helps to reduce harmful landfill waste.

The Element Brooklyn soap retails at $18.50 for 34 fl oz, which will refill your soap dispenser twice (about $9 a refill).

This makes it $36 less than the full-size (16.9 fl oz) Le Labo soap.

I absolutely adored this dupe and trying it side by side, I honestly couldn’t tell the difference.

Many people on TikTok, and on Element Brooklyn’s website, agree with me:

“The scent is spot on!”

“Found out about Element Brooklyn a little over a month ago and have purchased 3 different times. I’ve got to say they’re on top of it. Shipping is quick, their products are spot on for the price I have no complaints what so ever!”

“This soap smells identical! So amazing. And such a nice company to buy from. This is my new go to product.”
